You Needed Me

Image
Heh...this may be sacrilegious in some circles, but the underlying thoughts of the video-maker in pairing the imagery of Yeshua's work on earth with the heart lyrics of Anne Murray's song truly deserve credit.

Religion is Dangerous! ~ 1 of 4 ~ Dr. Myles Munroe

The Continuing Foolishness of Man and the World in New Year Celebrations

Absolutely sickened by the perpetual foolishness exhibited by the celebrative mood during year-to-year transitions that we call the 'New Year'. The difference remains at the tick of the clock and there is so much spiritualizing about the entire experience.  One should know better to come to reality - it's just another day, after all.  No one is immune from the ills of the past simply by welcoming a 'new' year.  The one and only way out is to repent of them, altogether.

Hine Ma Tov (Psalms 133:1)

Image
Well-known Jewish folk song based on Psalm 133:1, advocating the goodness of all peoples, Jew and Gentile, to live in peace with one another, even more so for Jew and Arab.

"The Lost Language of Lament" of Weeping Prophets

Came across the quoted topic, to be covered in an upcoming conference in February next year.   http://www.sksbooks.com/pages/EL_SHADDAI_CONFERENCE_200 http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=36675&event=1010SBF%7C1156301%7C1010   Poignantly brings to mind the prevailing pattern of much of our ways of worship nowadays - the sadness within our inner persons, and then repressing them whenever we gather in the throngs of our corporate worship, for the apparent sake of abiding in an attitude of lifting one another's burdens by the mere token of words and speech.  Perhaps we may all too easily provide for the excuse of priviledge of privacy in excluding such pertinent influences of our faith, especially in times of trouble, from our corporate worship.    But doing so is implicitly tantamount to relegating our faith to a rewards-based value system (meritocracy) revolved around imagined blessings and curses in the light of cir...

Messianic Praise - For Your Name is Holy

A continuation of the flow of blessing through the ministry of musical worship led by Paul Wilbur, with the call towards consecrating the Church in holiness and in faithful obedience as she comes into the presence of the Lord 'I Am'.

Beware the Wizardry and Seduction of the Games

This is another clarion call, this time regarding the latest and hottest news that one will encounter on the streets - the Olympics. Granted the opulence and grandeur accorded it by the host nation, one that is clamouring for and almost worthy of the claim of 'the' superpower no-less.  Yet, however great (and small) nations will be, we must remember this: Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket,       And are counted as the small dust on the scales; - Isaiah 40:15 The chief danger that the follower in Yeshua, of these modern times, caught up in the atmosphere of the Games, is that of the allure of the world out there in the form of man-centred pride and glory that is even masqueraded as 'winning for God'.  Not forgetting the marvels of technology and individual athletic ability that strut the abundance of human achievements. A similar message that was spreading four years earlier, a social commentary, really, coming from a native o...

The Perils of the 'Doctrines' of Musical Worship

I came across this article from www.deceptioninthechurch.com , in which it refers to the insiduous nature of ascribing the essence of spirituality, godliness, holiness plainly according to the attributes of the style of musical worship that is employed in the midst of any congregation of worshippers. Link It does a noteworthy attempt at drawing a fine line between advocating the Hebraic roots in the element of worship in the Christian faith; and that of placing an overemphasis upon the spiritualizing of worship through an un-negotiable approach of employing only the Davidic style of worship from the Old Testament. I took an interest in sharing this article, especially because it provides a form of antithesis to how a reader may view my recent 'sudden' influx of 'interest' in the sharing of many songs used by Paul Wilbur's Messianic Praise music ministry, since I expect that that has become a backdrop thesis with regard to how I consider the value of the style us...

Messianic Praise - On Your Walls O Jerusalem

Image
A song and a call to all watchmen who will watch over Israel, to the words written in the book of the prophet Isaiah, the sixty-second chapter: " 6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, 7 And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. " " 10 Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples! 11 Indeed the LORD has proclaimed To the end of the world: “ Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘ Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’”
